The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu ends the current season and will keep trainer into the 2026 season.
Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events of the year because of the illness she has been fighting in recent days.
The 22-year-old was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover before starting her preparations for 2026.
These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together in 2026.
The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.
She was also playing far from freely in the third set against Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has been a concern during parts of the season.
Those results meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.
Raducanu won 28 matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.
Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.
Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.
The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions late this year.
She mentioned that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.
The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
